There were many lobster rolls and more chowder's that alas lost their chance at a photo session but have settled into a happy place in memory and yet I am very chuffed to say the Bong's very own Chingri Malaikari still retains its crown of glory.
The first picture and maybe also the 3rd goes to Susan's Black and White Wednesday hosted by a favorite blogger Sra.
Love that first pic! N thoroughly enjoyed the seafood at Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard during our one vacation there. And I remember my colleague, a die hard seafood lover, commenting on how a trip there without eating clams, lobsters etc (like I did) was not a complete trip :)
ReplyDeleteHa, ha :) But eating veggie in those places is hard. I eat veg on Fridays and had to settle for plain pasta
DeleteClam chowder made me remember the awesome clam chowder at Chowders in Pier 39, SFO. That was so awesome and the best part was their caption - "eat the bowl", they poured the soup in those bowl like breads.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Loved that clam chowder in the bread bowl at the Pier. Actually I think that one was better than this, the bread made it really awesome for me at least.
DeleteLove your photos - and of course, envy you your trip. Read so much about Cape Cod in American novels but haven't visited the place.
ReplyDeleteLove fried calamari too!
Which one ?
DeleteI want to be here too.

DeleteYou have many beautiful places in Belgium
Love your pics, esp the first one! We had some awesome fried calamaris at Newport RI, with this fun twist I'm sure you can replicate. Mixed in with the typical fried calamaris, were similar thin-battered fried similarly sliced red (hot!!!) chilli peppers (jalapenos), so alternately you'd bite into sour-hot pieces with the Calarmaris! And the sauce was also great, red pepper with balasamic vinegar. Pl do replicate, and invite us, so we can validate!! :-)
ReplyDeleteoooh that must have been great. Rather than replicating I would rather go down to RI on the next long weekend and have this at source :) BTW I have never fried/cooked calamari at home, have you ?
DeleteSo you basically were at a sea food paradise over the weekend. I am dreaming of the lobster roll that did not make it to the pictures. :-)How about Crabs ?
ReplyDeleteNice party.
ReplyDeleteI blog @ Manidipa's Kitchen
That reminds our visit to Martha's Vineyard - it has been 10 years!
ReplyDeleteI love the last pict, I can finish all alone :)
nice pics :)
