Lemon Balm Tea

"The world is like a ride in an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question: "Is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, "Hey, don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride." And we kill those people"

Cup of Tea scented with Lemon Balm growing on my patio to soothe the nerves. And with this I admit that Big Sis S has way more spunk than me.

Lemon Balm is a citrusy and fresh scented herb with a delicate lemon scent. A leaf or two in my tea is perfect for a relaxing evening. Known for ages as a medicinal herb, lemon balm has mild sedative properties and has been used to relieve gas, reduce fever, and increase perspiration.Fresh sprigs are used to top drinks and as garnishes on salads and main dishes. Fresh or dried leaves make a refreshing tea, either iced or hot.

I have not used it for any other purpose though it is a beautiful herb with huge potential. Check out this link for more details

This beautiful herb goes out to WHB # 195 hosted this week by Dhanggit's Kitchen.

Sandeepa,
Lemon balm is absolutely a new term for me.What is this called in Bengali? MAy be I can search for it in Kolkata then for a few twigs :) and try it out with tea.
I love tea without milk and with little ginger and few drops of lemon in it.

Did u actually sit on that ride in the picture?! I'm so chicken - can't do coasters, fast rides, rides that go too high. Even M is better than me. She sat in a mini-coaster at Sesame Place and said "it was scary but fun!". I do meery-go-rounds and those little teacups :)

To pluck fresh herbs from your own garden is a lovely thing. Your tea looks soft and tranquil, Sandeepa.

I loved these rides as a kid but got a funny feeling in my head (not fear)a few years ago when I went on one - haven't tried it since.

Hello Everyone
Thanks for the comments.

The Lemon Balm is NOT mint. Though the leaves look similar the resemblance ends there.
The plant also grows very easily, not much care needed.
I bought a potted one from the nursery but you also get seeds

Vani, Sra, Sunita

I did sit on that and I regret that decision. I usually am too scared of rides but since S was very casual after her first ride on it, I thought "how bad can it be". Man, I am not taking rides based on her rating any more

Do I know you or vice versa :)
